Omaha hi, hi/lo Poker
Omaha poker is among the most popular Poker games available. It is somewhat similar to Texas Holdem. Omaha poker is different in the sense that it forms a hand of 4 cards instead of 2. Omaha hi/lo is considered by many players as a simpler if not better version of Omaha.
The dealing is fairly simple to follow.
The dealer deals four cards (face down) to the players. Community cards are placed at the center of the table. There are two types of pots in the game: high and low. Low pot is a qualifying pot to win high pot or even to qualify for high pot.
Playing the game is great fun. Every player forms the best hand with the help of the pocket and community cards. In the final analysis, the player with the upper hand wins. For this, the player must use at least two pocket cards provided to them to form the hand. The other three cards can be either picked up from the community cards or the pocket cards, as per the player’s wish. There are two qualifying hands for high pot and low pot. For the low pot, ace is considered as the lowest valued card; and the best sequence for the low pot is ace, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The betting just like the betting in Texas Holdem. Flushes and straights count for the low pot. The same cards can be used (as low pot) or different cards can be used while playing for the high pot.
The player who wins both the pots is considered a true winner. However, there can also be a separate winner for wither of the pots.
